Proportion Portrait High School Art

For a whole class period, I had the kids measure eachother's faces. For example a measurement from the middle of the eye to the top of the head or bottom of the nose to middle of the mouth. When all of the face measurements were done, I had them contruct a face according to the average of all the facial proportions we had measured. This is what they came up with.

Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man High School Art

For this assignment, I had my studio art class (mostly 9th graders) copy Leonardo Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, and then modify him however they want, or keep him like he is.
