PSA High School Video Art

My film class finished their first assignment. They were given several random subjects to film some stock footage of. They brought their clips in and traded them with another student. They then had to edit the clips, use two sounds from a sound folder, find a quote and use it in the video, and make a PSA from 15-30 seconds long. Here is one of them. To see the other 7 go to here.

Asymmetrical Composition Collage High School Art

My Art Theory 2 students had to find a painting in art history that had an asymmetrical composition and use that composition to create their own collage. The glossy magazine pages give off too much glare for good jpegs.

Symmetrical Composition Paper Snowflake High School Art

My Art Theory 2 students had to use multiple layers of cut paper in a symmetrical composition. They had almost two weeks of class to work on them.

Expressive Line and Shape Abstract Family Portrait High School Art

The sophomores in Art Theory 1 had to draw in marker an abstract family portrait using only line, shape, and color. It took a little explaining to communicate exactly what they were doing, but once they got the hang of it, it came natural to them. My mother who is also an art educator had great success with this assignment when she taught Saturday art classes at juvenile hall. So I thought I would borrow it.

Improv Homer Simpson Drawing High School Art

My sophomores in Art Theory 1 had to draw in about 5 minutes their memory of Homer Simpson. One student didn't know who that was. Last year, I did the same thing with Mickey Mouse.
