We were sitting around waiting to scan drawings for the Bestiary Zine we made in Studio Art when the kids spontaneously started doing these Exquisite Corpse drawings. What kids do that? Start their own art project with their free time in class?

Paper Cut High School Art
Christmas High School Art
For this assignment, students in Studio Art were asked to make something for the Holiday Season. They took home all of their creations before Christmas break though so I didn't get a chance to document many of their creations. It's too bad because there was a giant dreidel, ornament sphere, menorah made of sculpy, and many other Holiday delights. But the two examples below are fantastic and typical of the creativity that these kids bring when they are left to be creative.
Post-Impressionists @ The De Young Museum High School Art Field Trip
In December, myself and other teachers took the AP Studio Art and AP Art History Classes on a field trip up to San Francisco to see the Post-Impressionists show at the De Young Museum. A good time was had by all. It was way too crowded to get close to the art though. That bumbed me out because I love to get close to Van Gogh and Gauguin's luscious paint. I think the Musee D' Orsay is being remodeled at the moment so they are sending there collections traveling. Great for us in the Bay Area.
