My Studio Art Class spent about two weeks on these. To begin, I showed them some digital images of album covers. Mostly bad ones because they seem to be the most entertaining and there are plenty of blogs that like posting the worst album covers. Lots of German vinyl from 50's, 60's, and 70's. They had to pick an existing album of their choice and make a completely new design for the album cover. Enjoy.

Non-Objective Abstraction Acrylic Painting HIgh School Art
For these paintings I showed my Art Theory 2 class images of Morris Louis, Helen Frankenthaler, Frank Stella, Franz Kline, Jackson Pollack, Todd Chilton, and some others I can't remember. I taught them how to stretch and gesso their own canvases with pre-made stretcher boards. I emphasized using masking tape for hard edges and applying the paint in different ways including palette knives and a squeegee.
